Alameda United Church Addition

The Alameda United Church was originally built by Kimron Rink’s great-grandfather Truscott and other volunteers in 1912. The project entailed constructing a new foyer for the church to create better and safer access for the aging population of most rural Saskatchewan towns. The concept was to get parishioners into the building on yard level and thus avoid the dangers of icy outdoor stairs and exposure to hot summers. Matching brick was found from the original brick factory in Estevan, SK resulting in a perfect match for the existing church exterior.  The foyer features a long bench and window on the South wall, coat racks on the East wall, a mini elevator, a low riser staircase and direct access to the after church social room in the basement.
