REGENERATIVE BUILDING DESIGN

VPG has been involved in numerous architectural projects from conceptual design through to interior detailing and material specifications.  Common to all of our designs is the integration of local environmental conditions including sun, wind, daylight, topography, and appropriate technology.  This makes these buildings more efficient and reduces their dependency on non-renewable natural resources and creates a regenerative impact on the environment.  Healthy buildings incorporate ergonomically designed and ecologically sustainable interior and exterior building materials that are resilient.

REGENERATIVE TECHNOLOGY DESIGN

As part of our belief in an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to planning and design, VPG provides expertise in the design, construction and operation of innovative, ecologically-based storm water and sanitary sewer systems.  We use techniques such as grey water and biofiltration systems, and engineered wetlands to reduce the impacts of development on the aquatic ecosystems.

The open spaces within and around all communities provide outstanding opportunities to integrate nature into our daily lives.  A regenerative philosophy is applied to a range of project types such as public parks, gardens, ponds and trails, urban farms, community gardens and fire smart food forests.

REGENERATIVE COMMUNITY DESIGN

We begin the planning and design of regenerative communities by integrating our understanding of ecology and ecosystem functions with our experience in successfully combining a mixture of housing, commerce, recreation, agriculture, employment, and infrastructure into a compact, pedestrian-oriented community.  Our approach works with nature, involves stakeholders early in the planning process, and identifies opportunities to conserve and protect natural resources. And of course, Regenerative Buildings performs a significant part in the success of a truly Regenerative Community.
